Our Vision
​Be The Neighbor visualizes a world where, through love of neighbor, justice is realized, people flourish, and communities are made whole.
Be The Neighbor welcomes everyone regardless of race, ethnicity, gender identity, or sexual orientation.
We are related to The Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) and the United Church of Christ.​
​Be The Neighbor trips equip groups to put their faith into action through service and justice that is relational, sustainable, and dignity-affirming. You'll learn practical tools and techniques for building authentic partnerships and working alongside neighbors; skills you can take home and apply directly in your own neighborhood, long after the trip ends.

At the same time, groups go deeper into the root causes and systemic nature of injustice, learning from community leaders, organizers, public policy makers, advocates, and neighbors directly affected by the issues at hand. Through direct service, indirect service, relational ministry, immersion experiences, and justice education, participants come away equipped on two levels: how to build real, dignity-affirming relationships in community, and how to pursue lasting, systemic change on a justice level.
